About OATN
The Optometric Association of Tamil Nanbargal is a registered association of optometrists in Tamil Nadu. “Nanbargal” is Tamil for “friends”, and the name says what we are: colleagues who learn together, support one another and speak up for the profession.
Our name was decided on 2 November 2011 and we were registered on 27 December 2012 (Registration No. 524/2012). Since then, OATN has run its OPTINT conference and workshop, delivered training and championed public eye health, including the fight against childhood myopia.
